Triumph Update

Team Blog

I just updated the Triumph blog. I've added our snack/game schedule (which shows additional game information and should make it easier on everyone), the official game schedule (which should be checked every week, prior to our games, for changes) and I've also added a few pictures to our picture bank. Please share any pictures you take and I'll add them to dropbox, which is accessible through our blog. 

I wanted to clarify, this blog is for the team only and I only share it with you guys and Catherine's grandparents. It is public but people don't typically find it unless they know the URL. This URL is http://cwtriumph.blogspot.com/. If anyone has any concerns about pictures being posted on our blog, please let me know, ASAP, and I can either stop posting pictures or setup a password to get into the blog. A password makes it more difficult to get in and typically discourages visits but I want to do what everyone is most comfortable with.

Why a team blog? I prefer using a blog over the league websites, because it's more reliable and easier for me to update and keep everyone informed. It's also accessible to grandparents and friends who want to keep up with the team, see the game schedule, field maps, etc. You can also make comments and ask questions on the posts. It's a lot of fun! Please create a shortcut and add it to your desktop or favorites and visit often! You can also enter your email address and get new posts or updates sent directly to your email, so you don't miss anything.

Today's Game

Just a reminder, our game today (9/18/15) is at 5:30pm and we'll start warming up at 5:15pm. Please let me know ahead of time, if anyone can't make it. This is going to be a fun game. The girls typically play better in the afternoon, when they're awake and alert.

First Update of the Season - Spring 2015

I hope everyone is having as much fun as me and Catherine. As you can probably see, I love to coach and we've got a great group, both players and parents. This season is going to be so much fun!

Last Saturday's Game

Our game last Saturday went pretty well. Although we didn't score any goals, I saw a huge improvement between the first and second half. The girls were catching on and they played their very best soccer toward the end of the game. A scrimmage with another team, before our first game, would have been beneficial but we didn't get a chance to do that, so this was really the first opportunity this season for the girls to play in a real game.

Practices

At this age, I strongly believe in fun first. If the girls are having fun, they'll want to come back, want to continue to play and they're willing to learn. We typically play games that build skills but I'll occasionally throw a game of Duck-Duck-Goose in there because the girls absolutely love it. It's also a great game to bribe the girls with. :-)  I think the girls are doing really well in practice but if you're there watching and the girls get a little crazy (not listening, picking up other girls, throwing dirt, etc.) I'd really appreciate it if you can help out where needed.

This Saturday's Game (4/25/15)

This weeks game is at the same time (9:00am) at the same field (Doc Harris). Please have the girls there by 8:45am for warm-up. Also, we're the visiting team so we should be blue. Always bring both colors, just in case. And...Alexa's family is scheduled to bring our drink/snack this week.

Our blog is all updated and ready to go. I've added our team game & snack schedule, our game schedule (with field location maps), pictures, and I'll hopefully be adding regular updates.
